OUR IDEA
Math isn’t just for math people.
Most of the math that trips people up isn’t hard. It’s just never explained. Lay Math shows the answer and the reason, in words anyone can follow.
Why we built it
People call it complex math. To a mathematician it’s “lay math” — simple steps that nobody walked you through. A 50% markup isn’t a 50% margin. Two discounts don’t add up. A 1:4 mix isn’t 25%. We want you to see that with your own numbers, not take our word for it.
How every calculator works
- Live. Change a figure and the answer moves immediately.
- Shown, not hidden. “Show me why” lays out each step of the math.
- Yours. Every figure is a starting point you replace with your own.
- Global. 47 currencies, metric or imperial, and no assumptions about your country.
- Private. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent.
